Partita — Vítězslava Kaprálová — Music
Partita is an orchestral work with bold brass writing, rhythmic drive, and lyrical passages that never collapse into sentimentality, and a harmonic language which is very contemporary for its time. Vítězslava Kaprálová was a Czech composer and conductor who started to compose at the age nine and in her twenties already conducted major European orchestras. She died at just twenty-five, yet the works she left behind secured her place in 20th-century music; her orchestral scores remain performed, recorded, and studied. The green bouquet reflects that paradox – youthful freshness held inside a composition of remarkable strength and vitality.
This composition features green and white hydrangea, ranunculus, white Bombastic spray roses, and freesia.
Ranunculus are naturally available from December to May. Outside their season, they may be replaced with flowers of a similar character and quality. Due to daily market supply, the exact flower varieties in a composition may also change. Upon your request, we can always adjust the flower varieties or recreate the composition in a different colour palette. Please note that all our compositions can be arranged as a bouquet, in a round box, or in a hand-made basket.
