Element 109

Element 109 — Lise Meitner — Physics

Element 109, later named meitnerium, honors a scientist whose work reshaped atomic physics. Lise Meitner was an Austrian-Swedish physicist who co-discovered nuclear fission and, crucially, provided the correct theoretical explanation of how and why the atomic nucleus splits. Although the Nobel Prize was awarded solely to her collaborator Otto Hahn, the broader scientific community has long recognized her central role. Naming an element after her in the periodic table permanently inscribed that correction.

This composition features blush and hydrangea, Juliet garden roses, Keira garden roses, Bombastic spray roses, anthurium, and mattiola. Its contained intensity reflects Meitner’s achievement and mirrors the atomic force and element’s power.
